Abstract
Every ten years, the decennial census counts the population of the United States. Understanding the relationships between different types of geographic areas allows data users a deeper understanding of census data. These geographic areas are the foundation of the decennial census and other surveys in the sense that they provide the framework for the data to be tabulated, presented, and visualized. This presentation will introduce and discuss the different levels of geography that census data can be tabulated for.
